Andrews Software, Inc. announces the release of ASI Mobile 3.0™ wireless technology for RIM industry
ASI’s latest mobile software application harnesses the power of the Internet to keep businesses in sync and on the move.
Cleveland, Ohio – April 28, 2009… Andrews Software Inc., the records and information management industry’s software solution leader, announces the release of ASI Mobile 3.0™ Shred Edition. ASI Mobile 3.0 represents the industry’s most powerful and versatile mobile software application, providing two-way wireless communication with route drivers to ensure a level of service unsurpassed in the industry.
“ASI Mobile 3.0 puts the power of today’s wireless technologies squarely in the driver’s hands,” says ASI President and COO Scott Bidwell. “It represents ASI’s ongoing commitment to develop advanced solutions that aid our clients throughout the RIM industry in maintaining their competitive advantage. This first-phase release of ASI Mobile 3.0 targets shredding operations since much of this segment of the RIM industry provides its services via mobile shredding, as well as plant-based facilities. Our second-phase release is scheduled for the fall of 2009 and will target records centers. Both specialties require a mobile software solution that is easy to use, yet sophisticated enough to ensure a level of service superior to any previously available on the market.”
The ASI Mobile 3.0 Service Dashboard illustrates this marriage of simplicity and technical prowess. The Service Dashboard is initially compiled upon receipt of the day’s service orders, received wirelessly over the Internet or via a workstation. Viewed on the handheld computer, this intuitive user interface captures a real-time snapshot of service activity – all visible from one screen. Users then have the ability to “drill down” for service activity detail as needed. And because service orders can be sent and received wirelessly, ASI Mobile 3.0 is the perfect solution for operations servicing single or multi-market accounts from a central database.
Improved inventory control is another key benefit offered by ASI Mobile 3.0. Barcode scanning via the handheld computer not only tracks bin locations and changes, but also enables drivers to capture service times and bin capacities. This provides users with the ability to forecast when additional containers are required, as well as confirm the containers were serviced by the driver.
The ability to print shredding certificate receipts onsite is another key advantage offered by ASI Mobile 3.0 Shred Edition. Utilizing wireless communication to a mobile receipt printer, the driver is able to produce a comprehensive receipt of service that includes digital signatures of both the client and driver, along with the type of material, and whether the service was performed on-site or off-site. All of this information is transferred back to Veri-Shred providing you with the ability to reprint shredding certificates at a later date, including the signatures captured at the time of service.
