Andrews Software User Meeting features latest technology in RIM software

On October 25-27, 2005 Andrews Software, Inc. (ASI) welcomed ASI clients to Cleveland to showcase software and share information during its fourth annual Users Group Meeting. Over 70 ASI users attended this year's event to learn about new ASI software, enhancements to existing software and to share information and ideas with their peers from around the globe and the ASI Team.

A highlight of this year's agenda included instructional sessions demonstrating the latest software enhancements incorporating state-of-the-art technology. These enhancements include the release of ASI Mobile, VVK webCONNECT and the integration of Microsoft's MapPoint® to its information destruction software, Veri-Shred®.

ASI Mobile represents the most progressive driver scanning technology solution available to the off-site industry today. A recent recipient of the "Designed for Windows Mobile Certification" from Microsoft®, ASI Mobile operates on Microsoft Pocket PC with SQL Server and .NET. Communication is managed by Bluetooth wireless technology - no more cables to get in the way and break. Comprehensive in its functionality, ASI Mobile not only contains the driver scanning application, it also houses ASI's Veri-Shred® information destruction and warehouse scanning applications. This means that whether servicing a destruction bin, delivering a carton or file, or working in the warehouse, ASI Mobile is the one solution for all activities.

ASI also provided customers with further flexibility in software solutions with the addition of VVKwebCONNECTT. This web-based tape management solution provides records centers and their clients with all of the functions and flexibility to manage their offsite media vaults via the web, utilizing the customer's existing tape bar codes. VVK webCONNECT is managed, maintained and controlled by the records center and works in conjunction with Visual Vault Keeper®(VVK). Clients are able to view and update media information, manage deposits and withdrawals, search and query the inventory and much more - all from a single-center database in real time via the web.

ASI has further designated itself as one of the industry's innovation leaders with the addition of Microsoft MapPoint® technology to Veri-Shred®, its information destruction software. With MapPoint, destruction companies are able to apply mapping and location tools to increase revenue, reduce operational cost and complexity and improve business decisions. Using route optimization technology, driver routes are determined based on maximum efficiency and can be re-routed should schedules or requirements dictate.

"The ASI Team operates in a culture of collaboration, not only with our internal departments, but more importantly, with our customers. These recent enhancements are a great example of this," says Scott Bidwell, ASI Vice President, Sales and Marketing. "The Users Group Meeting provides a platform whereby we can share this information with our customers, while gaining new insight and ideas from them directly."

Along with ASI-specific sessions, attendees enjoyed presentations on time management and effective marketing from training and organizational development specialist Doreen Dietsche and marketing strategist to the RIM industry Tom Adams.

Says Mary Stephens of Great Lakes Records Center, "This meeting provided a very nice overview with as much detail as you could provide without being in a class environment with PC's."
